Well...what if?

We tend to create labels, and with labels come roles.  Roles lead to expectations and expectations lead to judgment.  What would happen, if for one moment, we forgot to judge the experience?

What if we forgot to judge?

EXERCISE: Get a pen and paper and write the first word or phrase that comes to your mind when you read each of the following scenarios of people/things, then read the article below:
1) A 200-pound dumbbell
2) An older man working at Starbucks
3) A man on the side of the street asking you for change
4) A guy/girl that has the same name as your ex
5) Speaking in front of 100,000 people
6) A child diagnosed with Cancer

It’s undeniable.  It’s real.  It’s the truth – beyond a doubt – that we are creatures of judgment.  This is neither opinion nor mere belief, it is fact.  Judgment is our source of navigation, and without it, we’d probably be very lost and confused floating around in this physical reality.  It is through our ego in which judgment exists, and the ego is what continues to create a consistency of WHAT WE DESIRE TO SEE.  Now, this is great when we are initially experiencing the world around us, but in time, the result is a sense of stagnancy.  We find ourselves in the same patterns, the same situations with the same problems repeating over, and over, and over again.  We ask the same questions, get the same answers, and find ourselves in a seemingly endless cycle of repeating reality – and eventually, we succumb to the that inevitable two-word phrase, “I’m lost!”

The other day I was at the gym, doing some dumbbell bicep curls, turning muscle in to iron – you know, the usual day of lifting…when I thought, “What if I didn’t know how much I was lifting? Would I be able to lift more?”  This question was stimulating to me because I became aware of the sense of limitation that I was creating BEFORE I EVEN PICKED UP THE WEIGHT!  Although I had never tried to lift particular amounts of weight, my mind immediately judged the experience AS THOUGH I HAD ALREADY EXPERIENCED IT.  However, the fact is, I’ve never had that experience and my mind was literally filling in for an experience that was unknown to me.

Have you ever looked at an attractive person and suddenly thought something like, “I’m way out of his/her league” or “We would never work out”?  I’ve found myself doing that sort of thing all the time!  Immediate judgments that lack credentials to prove anything – it’s almost like a sub-class of insanity when you really think about it!

All this seemingly useless judgment led me to the question: “What if I forgot to judge?”

What if I forgot to judge?  Ask yourself that.  What if you just completely wiped out all past pre-conceived notions of any person, place, or thing and just lived.  What would that be like?  Who would you talk to?  Would you look at the cashier at Starbucks differently?  The person asking you for change?  The 200-pound dumbbell?  The child diagnosed with Cancer?  Would you change the words that you used during the exercise?

We tend to create labels, and with labels come roles.  Roles lead to expectations and expectations lead to judgment.  When we expect to see something, our inner guidance system subconsciously creates EXACTLY what we expect to see, and so we perceive (and experience) something that is essentially not real but of our own creation.

Try this.  If you’re in a public space, look around the room for someone you definitely do not know.  Imagine what it would be like if you knew them.  Imagine that you loved them as a friend – would you act differently?  Coming from my own experience – yes – you absolutely will.  And you want to know what the cool part about this subtle shift in perception?  They will respond differently!  Not always, but a majority of the time, they will respond from a place of love because love is our natural state – it transcends social norms and other barriers created by our human judgment system.

Now, look back at your list.  Did your words suggest judgment or do they invite possibility?  There is no right nor wrong, it just is.  However, if you’d like to expand your potential for new, creative, insightful experiences, make it a point TODAY to turn that judgmental system off – even for a mere moment – to experience the vast array of possibility that has been provided for you in this human experience.

Sometimes it’s ok to be forgetful :)

Success starts with your Morning Routine!

1/4/2011

Do you have a solid morning routine?  Have you ever taken the time to create one?  This is something that I've been THINKING about implementing for a long while, but due to a busy schedule (and even more excuses), I haven't had time to implement a consistent routine into my lifestyle.  Thankfully, the holiday season gave me sufficient time to create and begin to implement a structured routine, and today I'd like to share that with you!

So, a morning routine, why?  Research any human being that has ever been successful and you will notice that there is a common theme - most had a morning routine!  The reason is, the morning hours are usually the quietest times of the day where we are able to relax, center ourselves, and prepare for the days events.  It is during these hours where we set the tone for the rest of the day.  Our energy during the morning hours will almost always reflect our energy throughout the day, and when we can consistently reach optimum energy levels in the morning, we will consistently have optimum energy levels throughout the day!  Also, it is important to understand the mind and how it works.  For many of us, our minds can be filled with an abundance of limiting thoughts and feelings, which typically lead to an abundance of worries and stress.  In order to eliminate this experience, we must create clear goals and intentions for the day so that our mind knows exactly what issues are present and HOW they will be dealt with.  If you are confident with your plan, there is no reason to worry.

Confidence = Clarity, Clarity = Productivity, Productivity = Success!

My intention for this post is to give you all practical steps to creating your own morning routine.  For my own routine, I find it essential to acknowledge all aspects of my life: the body, mind, and spirit.  In order to do this, I use a combination of different tools/strategies that I have learned and have found beneficial.  Below, is my daily morning routine:
  1. Drink 750mL of water (a water bottle): After sleeping 6-8 hours, our body is typically very dehydrated in the morning.  Water is essential for all bodily functions and without it, or bodies will not be able to work at its highest potential.  The morning is a time where water is most important and every cell in our body craves this nourishment.  This is the first thing I do in the morning because it stimulates my body, wakes me up, and boosts my energy.
  2. Meditate for 15 minutes: Anyone who has every meditated consistently during a stressful week will be very pleased with increase in energy and reduction in stress that they will experience.  Meditation is an extremely valuable tool that will establish balance in your life - even when it seems that everything else is out of balance!  There are many ways to meditate and everyone has different preferences.  I give myself four options every morning: 1) Guided Meditation: just play the CD and follow along; 2) Nothingness: sit and enjoy the quietness, quieting the mind-chatter; 3) Contemplation: ask yourself a question (about an issue, situation, or person in your life) and pay attention to the thoughts and feelings that arise; 4) Spread Love: give love and appreciation to all parts of the body from the head to the toes.
  3. Energy Exercises: I've found these very useful and highly recommend doing Donna Eden's 5 minute energy routine...watch it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gffKhttrRw4&feature=player_embedded#!
  4. Visualizations: Take 5 minutes to connect with your long term goals and notice how it would FEEL to have completed these goals and live this as your truth.
  5. Declarative Statements: These are affirmative statements that help to align you to that which you desire!  Find one or create one (or a couple) that feels right to you and boldly state it out loud 10 or more times each morning.
  6. Review Planner: Before you go to bed each night, it is a good idea to write out your plans and goals for the next day.  That way, you can review these plans and goals in the morning and your mind will be aligned and equipped be optimally productive!
  7. Morning Guide: The final part to my morning routine is to fill out a document that I've created that I call the "Morning Guide."  This document reconnects me to my goals, what I'm grateful for and why, what I'm concerned about and how to address these concerns, what I will eat (morning, lunch, dinner), how I will exercise, and how I will make a difference.  I find this very useful, especially because it is something that you can carry with you throughout the day and use to stay on track and focused.  I've attached the actual document below!

This morning routine is what works well for me and I plan to complete these activities every morning at least 6 times a week.  As time goes on I will modify these activities so that they are in line with my own needs, but currently this routine takes about 45 minutes and fits in well with my current lifestyle.  I encourage you all to take the time to implement a morning routine into your lifestyle and commit to it for at least 6 weeks.  You'll be surprised by how energized, focused, and organized your days will become!  I highly recommend it!

I'd love to hear your comments about my routine, or if you already have one, I'd also love any suggestions that you have to maximize the morning hours.  Leave a comment in the forum section below under the "Success starts with a Morning Routine" post to share your thoughts!

Enjoy!

2012 - the END or ENLIGHTENMENT?

1/1/2011

Looking at today's date I see 01/01/2011 and I can't help but think, "oh boy, one year closer..."  And by that I mean one year closer to 2012, a controversial date that has been very relevant for many religions, ancient cultures, and philosophers throughout time.  There are so many theories out there, and they can be group into three main categories: 1) Those who believe 2012 is just a date and nothing will happen 2) Those who believe 2012 will be the end of human existence 3) Those who believe 2012 will be some sort of spiritual enlightenment or a period of judgement.

From my own perspective, I have always drifted toward the "spiritual enlightenment" theory - however - I do not claim that this is how it will play out.  During these times, I feel that it is important to stay open-minded about all the possibilities that exist because we truly do not know what we do not know.  Doing what feels good is most important.  If the world is coming to an end, then it comes to an end - why worry about it?  If the world elevates to a new level of awareness, then it will - why worry about it?  If you believe that by raising awareness and "being the change you want to see in the world" can change the outcome, then do that if that is what feels good to you!

The reason I brought up this subject is because I saw an interesting video on facebook this morning where the presenter's argument supported the one-government/human control/doomsday theory of 2012 and refuted the "spiritual enlightenment" theory.  I am always open to different perspectives, so was more than willing to hear what the presenter's arguments were.  After watching the video, I posted a comment...here's what I said:

"Interesting viewpoint, thank you for sharing.  I'm always open to hearing another perspective...and if I wasn't, I would merely be another sheep in the herd.

The ideas and theories presented seem to be well thought out, however, I feel that as humans our perspective is so small, so minuscule, that making logical claims is useless.  The more I understand the mind and how it works, the more I realize how robot-like and animalistic we are.  There are those that have transcended these states of mind, but the majority haven't - and because of this, our perception of this reality is limited and completely based on the belief systems that were instilled within us.  Bottom line is, we know what we know, we know what we don't know, but WE DON'T KNOW WHAT WE DON'T KNOW.

I have done my fair share of research regarding human control and one-world government theories.  These are all very interesting and definitely a possibility.  How could it not?  If we don't know what we don't know, then all possibilities still exist.  The main question I have for the speaker is this: what is your purpose?  Why present it like this?  His ideas blatantly state that we are doomed and that there is no way out of it.  How does this information help me?

I have gravitated toward spirituality because it has helped me on so many levels...staying healthy, releasing limiting beliefs, helping others, feeling good...I've seen so much benefit from it - and you know - even if everything I know does not match up with any scientific evidence - I won't care because what I do works and what I do gives me a desire to live and explore the infinite possibilities of this world.

I find it interesting how the speaker uses Bible quotes to support his argument.  The Bible, a book whose information could easily have been CHANNELED in the first place!  Not to mention, a book which could have easily been edited and manipulated to fit the belief system that existed at the time.
There's just so many variables!  And that's why I find life so interesting!"

With infinite possibilities, we just don't know what we don't know!  The video is posted below if you're interested in watching for yourself!

Enjoy 2011! :)

Why does it Feel like Time is Speeding Up?

12/31/2010

Do you ever get that feeling that time is just flying by?  Take a moment to reminisce about 2010...didn't that go kind of quick?  Personally, this is something I've been feeling more and more as the years pass by - last New Year's celebration feels like yesterday!  It's beginning to get kind of ridiculous!

Although this concept seems quite subjective, it is something that many people are experiencing and, believe it or not, this phenomenon can be explained by science.  Ever heard of Schuman Resonance?  This is the frequency at which our planet operates at and for years it has been considered to be at a permanent 7.8 cycles per second.  The interesting part about the Earth's frequency is that this seemingly "permanent" frequency is apparently NOT permanent - the number is increasing!  Currently the Earth's frequency is about 12 cycles per second and it has been estimated to be at 13 cycles per second by 2012.

So how does this affect time?  Well, we have this connection with the Earth's frequency, and our cells actually vibrate at a similar frequency to Earth's.  Since the Earth's frequency is rising, the cells in our body innately are vibrating at a higher frequency.  When this happens our perception of time actually speeds up.  It FEELS like time is going faster, and because time is not "real" (it is a man-made concept), these changes are affecting how we perceive reality.

Interested in this learning more about this theory?  I suggest you check out this site: http://www.crystalinks.com/greggbraden.html and watch the video of Gregg Braden (posted below).

Enjoy!  And have a Happy (and quite speedy) New Year!

5 minute Exercise to Boost your Energy! ~ incredible!

12/30/2010

Do you ever notice yourself running at a low energy level throughout the day?  Lately this has been the case for me, I truly felt this sense of stagnant energy that wouldn't go away!  I'd really have no desire to do anything and that's not like me at all. I figured it was from all the holiday activities - and possibility the rediculous amount of Christmas cookies that I had consumed haha - either way, I was really becoming concerned with this lack of energy I was expressing.

Currently I am receiving LifeLine sessions from another CLP, and after telling her about my symptoms of low energy she recommended a five minute energy routine demonstrated by Donna Eden, a well known energy healing practitioner.  After following the video and doing the simple exercises, I was shocked at how ENERGIZED I felt!  It was as if I had replaced my battery...I literally felt the energy flowing through me!  That night I had been debating whether or not I was going to attend a party (mainly because I was feeling so deprived of energy earlier) but after the exercises I was feeling up to it and I ended up feeling great the entire night - it was a wonderful!

With that being said, I'd highly recommend that you check out the video and complete these exercises on a daily basis.  I've made a commitment to do them every morning!
